A Long Beach man was identified by the Los Angeles County coroner's office as the victim in a freak accident.Robert Castorena, 51, was killed when a big rig's container came loose, slid off a trailer and crushed the cyclist to death in Carson.The accident was reported at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Santa Fe Avenue and Warnock Way, said Melanie Flores, supervising dispatcher with the Los Angeles County Fire Department."The container struck a bridge and got knocked off the trailer," Flores said, describing how te trailer struck a railroad overcrossing.An investigation was underway Wednesday into how the incident occurred.City News Service contributed to this post.
