Long Beach Firefighters Sent To Combat Palisades Fire: Report
Three Long Beach Fire Department crews have been sent to help extinguish the ravaging blaze in Pacific Palisades.

LONG BEACH, CA — More than a dozen firefighters from the Long Beach Fire Department have been sent to help battle the more than 5,000-acre blaze ravaging Pacific Palisades, the Long Beach Watchdog reported.
LBFD spokesperson Jake Heflin told the Watchdog that 14 Long Beach firefighters were sent to provide additional support Tuesday afternoon. The fire department has also reached out to off-duty firefighters to make up resources sent to help.
"Long Beach resources are actively fighting fires at this incident," Heflin told the Watchdog. "They're in the thick of it."

As of Wednesday morning, multiple fires were decimating LA County from the coast to Pasadena. In total, more than 8,000 acres have burned, two people have been killed and tens of thousands of people have been evacuated.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the firefighters and first responders during this emergency. The City of Long Beach is ready to support fire suppression and evacuation efforts in any way we can," Mayor Rex Richardson said in a statement. "This fire is no joke."
