Long Beach Motorcyclist Killed After Being Struck By Pickup Truck
Witnesses rushed to help the motorcyclist, but he was pronounced dead at a hospital soon after the crash.
LONG BEACH, CA — A motorcyclist died on Friday evening after he was struck by a pickup truck, authorities said.
Witnesses immediately rushed to the aid of the man, who was struck before 9:17 p.m. in the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and 19th Street, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
Long Beach fire officials took the man to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries, police said.

The motorcyclist was reportedly traveling southbound on Atlantic Avenue approaching 19th Street when a 2014 Toyota Tundra pulled out in front of him while making a left-hand turn from eastbound 19th Street to northbound Atlantic Avenue.
"The motorcycle was unable to avoid the Toyota and the collision occurred," police said.

The motorcyclist was not named, pending notification of next of kin.
The truck was driven by a 59-year-old Long Beach resident. Police said they did not believe alcohol, drugs or distracted to be a factor in the collision for the driver of the truck.
