Due to rising cases of catalytic converters being stolen, police are hosting a catalytic converter etching event.
LONG BEACH, CA — Due to rising cases of catalytic converters being stolen in Long Beach, police are hosting a catalytic converter etching event next Saturday.
At the event on June 29, Long Beach Police Department officers will engrave license plate numbers onto catalytic converters. Residents were instructed to go to the Long Beach Health Department at 2525 Grand Ave.
Etchings on catalytic converters make investigations easier for law enforcement when they are reported stolen. It also makes it harder for thieves to sell the stolen part, authorities said.
