Man Arrested Following Deadly Shooting In Long Beach
The shooting happened on Thursday morning in the 2000 block of East Harding Street, police said.
LONG BEACH, CA — A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting in North Long Beach Thursday morning, police said.
Long Beach resident Garrett Remillard shot and killed a man around 5:17 a.m. in the 2000 block of East Harding Avenue, according to authorities.
Officers responded to the scene where they found the man with a gunshot wound to the upper body, police said. He died at the scene, police said. His identity was not immediately released.

While investigating the area, officers were called to the area of 49th Street and Del Amo Boulevard, where Remillard appeared to be having a mental health crisis, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Police say the 24-year-old made comments to responding officers in which he incriminated himself, and he was taken into custody on suspicion of murder. His bail was set at $2 million, police said.

It's unclear what prompted the shooting, and the circumstances remain under investigation. But police said in a statement Friday morning that Remillard and the man he is suspected of killing knew each other.
