Details about what led up to the shooting are still limited, with police saying it happened Saturday around 3 a.m. in the 1700 block of Magnolia Avenue. There, responding officers found a man with a gunshot wound to the upper body, according to the Long Beach Police Department. Long Beach Fire Department personnel took the man to a local hospital, where he was listed as being in critical but stable condition, according to the LBPD. A motive and suspect information remain under investigation, police said, adding that officers recovered a firearm at the scene of the crime.
