Officers responded around 11:30 a.m. to a report of a shooting and found 43-year-old Jesse Stiles of Long Beach suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body at 17th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, police said. Stiles was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, according to police. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Detectives Juan Carlos Reyes and Jesus Espinoza at 562-570-7244, police said.
