Man Killed In Long Beach Crash

A man was killed in a Long Beach crash early Tuesday morning.

LONG BEACH, CA — A man died Tuesday after the car he was driving was struck by another vehicle in Long Beach.

The crash occurred at around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday near 10th street and Orange Avenue, when a Nissan Rouge traveling eastbound on 10th Street struck a Honda Accord that was attempting to make a U-turn from the south curb, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The Accord driver was unconscious in the driver's seat when officers arrived. He was taken to a hospital and later succumbed to his injuries, police said.

The Rouge driver cooperated with the investigation. Police said neither distracted driving nor intoxication were considered factors in the crash.

The victim's identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
