Man Shot To Death In Long Beach

The man was in the 200 block of East Pacific Coast Highway Tuesday night when he was gunned down, according to police.

LONG BEACH, CA — Detectives are investigating after a man was killed Tuesday night in Long Beach, according to police.

Details about what prompted the shooting were limited, but police say it happened just before 11 p.m. in the 200 block of East Pacific Coast Highway. The area is west of Long Beach Boulevard.

Officers responded to a shooting call in the area and found the man with a gunshot wound to his upper body, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Despite efforts by Long Beach officers and fire personnel to save his life, the man died at the scene. He was only identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office authorities as a "teenaged male."

"Homicide detectives are investigating the motive and circumstances leading up to the shooting," the LBPD said in a statement Wednesday morning. "Detectives are working to identify a possible suspect(s)."
