Man Flees On Boat, Arrested After Shooting In Long Beach
The shooting happened Sunday night near Long Beach's Shoreline Village, according to police.
LONG BEACH, CA — A 43-year-old man was arrested Sunday following a shooting that hurt three people, including a teen, near Long Beach's Shoreline Village Sunday night, according to police.
Police say the man appeared to be part of a large group that was arguing around 10:50 p.m. near the 400 block of Shoreline Village. At some point, at least one person involved in the altercation started shooting, wounding a man, woman and a 14-year-old boy, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The people involved in the altercation fled the scene, along with one person who used a boat to leave the area, police said. But officers later located the boat and stopped its driver, police said.

The driver, identified by police as Apple Valley resident Joshua Eduardo Jones, was taken into custody on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, prohibited possessor in possession of ammunition, carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, and carrying a loaded firearm in a public place, police said.
Police did not say whether Jones fired his weapon or shot anyone during the argument near Shoreline Village. He is currently being jailed without bail, police said.

The man, woman and teen shot during the argument were all taken to local hospital, police said, and are expected to survive. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening, according to authorities.
Officers, meanwhile, are still investigating the circumstances behind the shooting, including a motive, the LBPD said.
