LONG BEACH, CA — While family and friends barbeque and celebrate this Memorial Day, many government offices and services will be closed for business in Long Beach.
Most people will be off work to celebrate and honor the lives of those who died during military service, but many will still have errands to run.
Here's a look at what will and won't be open in Long Beach on Monday, May 29 in observation of the holiday.

- Trash and recycling collection
- Gas, water and sewer dispatch will be open for emergency calls
Closed
- Billie Jean King main library, all branch libraries, including library offices
- BizCare Hotline
- Building and safety services, including inspections, plan reviews and permit center
- Citizen police complaint commission
- City Hall
- City-operated vaccination sites for flu, COVID-19 and mpox
- City-operated COVID-19 testing sites
- City Prosecutor’s Office
- Code Enforcement services
- COVID-19 information line
- Energy resources offices
- El Dorado Nature Center
- Fire Headquarters, Support Services, Fire Prevention & Operations, including Marine Safety Administration
- Health department and health facilities
- Homeless Services outreach line
- Housing authority
- LB resource hotline
