Metro Train Collides With Vehicle Downtown
Southbound traffic at Long Beach Boulevard and Third Street is halted due to the crash.
LONG BEACH, CA — A Metro train collided with a vehicle in Downtown Long Beach on Wednesday, which resulted in no injuries according to Long Beach Police Department spokesperson Richard Mejia.
Authorities responded to the crash at 1:36 p.m. at Long Beach Boulevard and Third Street.
"Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle that had been involved in a traffic collision with a Metro train," Mejia said. "The driver of the vehicle was an uninjured adult woman, who was transported to a local hospital by Long Beach Fire Department personnel."

LBPD's preliminary investigation found that the vehicle was traveling southbound on Long Beach Boulevard when it turned left onto Third Street and struck the train.
There were no other injuries reported and the investigation is ongoing, according to Mejia.
