Mother, Daughter Killed In Drive-By Shooting In Compton

The two women were stopped at a red light when someone in another car opened fire on them, according to authorities.

LONG BEACH, CA — A mother and daughter were killed Tuesday night during a drive-by shooting in Compton, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The two women, ages 45 and 22, were stopped at a red light in the area of Caldewell Street and Central Avenue just after 7 p.m. when someone in another vehicle pulled up alongside them and opened fire, according to the LASD.

Deputies responded to the scene, where they found one woman in the street, west of the intersection, and the other still inside the vehicle — both suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, authorities said.
