Pedestrian Fatally Struck In Long Beach

The Long Beach Police Department shut down a stretch of Ocean Boulevard to investigate the crash.

LONG BEACH, CA — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle Saturday on a busy Long Beach street.

The crash occurred at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday on Ocean Boulevard at Ninth Place, Long Beach Fire Department spokesman Jack Crabtree told City News Service.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, Crabtree said. The gender and age of the pedestrian was not immediately available.
