Pedestrian Killed On Long Beach Freeway Interchange

A pedestrian was killed in a collision on a Long Beach freeway transition road Thursday night.

LONG BEACH, CA — A pedestrian was killed in a collision with a vehicle on a freeway transition road in Long Beach and an investigation is underway Friday.

California Highway Patrol officers were called at approximately 9:24 p.m. Thursday to the transition road from the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway and the northbound Long Beach (710) Freeway where they found the victim lying on the side of the transition road, CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service.

The victim — whose name, gender or age were not immediately known — was pronounced dead at the scene.

The CHP closed the freeway transaction road for three and half hours while they investigating the cause of the crash.
