Police Activity Shuts Down All Traffic On 710 Freeway

LONG BEACH, CA — Interstate 710 is closed in both directions at the Long Beach International Gateway Bridge due to police activity, officials announced Monday morning.

The Port of Long Beach's main channel is also closed to water traffic during the police activity. Additionally, the Mark Bixby Bike/Pedestrian Path on the bridge is closed to all foot and bike traffic.

All traffic is being diverted to Pacific Coast Highway from the southbound 710 Freeway.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, Los Angeles Police Department is conducting an active investigation in the area. It was not immediately known what the nature of the activity was.
