- The Silverado Park Pool is closed for repairs. However, there’s no word yet when it will reopen. We learned Monday that the pool closed on December 20 for regular maintenance, but then technicians began “running into some unexpected problems.” (LB Post)
- Did you miss Saturday’s deadline for having your Christmas tree picked up by the City’s Treecycling program? Do not fret! The City extended its drop-off location availability until this Saturday. Originally, these venues were scheduled to shut down on the same day as the tree pickup date. (City of LB)
- Finch and Sparrow Games is a trading card store at 2699 East 28th Street. On Friday, a man stole a card with an estimated value of more than $40,000. The store’s owner is asking the public to help recover the card, which is the “Beta: Black Lotus card from the game ‘Magic: The Gathering’." This particular card bears the signatures of the game’s creator and the card’s artist. (ABC)
- We learned Wednesday that Laserfiche intends to finish its construction at 3459 Long Beach Boulevard by February. Then, the Bixby Knolls-based software development company intends to “offer a hybrid workplace for the foreseeable future.” This means that the company’s current venue at 3545 Long Beach Blvd. will be for sale rather than taken up by staff members from Laserfiche. (LB Business Journal)
- The Studio at the BJK Main Library is on winter break. The Studio will reopen on Tuesday. Originally, the reopening date was planned for last week. The Studio is a free space that offers access to 3D printing, sound studio technology, laptops, and light tables. (Long Beach Public Library)
