1-Year-Old Homeless Girl Dies On Bus Bench Near LAX: Reports

LOS ANGELES, CA — A 1-year-old homeless girl died on a bus bench near LAX Friday morning, according to reports.

The baby died of cardiac arrest near the intersection of South Sepulveda and Century boulevards at about 10 a.m. Authorities responded to the scene following an emergency call, but the relationship of the caller to the child is unknown, KTLA reported.

The caller attempted CPR until the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived. Firefighters took over when they arrived and eventually declared the child dead, KTLA reported.

The infant, her sister and her mother are all homeless. Her sister was placed in the custody of the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, KFI reported.
