🤔 Aggressive Urban Coyotes or Regular L.A. County Wildlife? Poll!
We live with raccoons and opossums. Do coyotes fall into the same category? They don’t need open space, have no problems building dens close to humans, and are becoming more and more visible on our neighborhood streets. What do you think? So far, 63.6% think we need to learn to live with them, 27.3% want them gone, and 9.1% don’t care one way or the other.
📰 Here are the top stories today in Los Angeles:
1) There was an eight-car crash on the 105 Thursday morning. There’s a good chance you were stuck in traffic when the CHP closed “the connector roads from the eastbound and westbound Century (105) Freeway to the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway for approximately one hour, as well as the carpool, number one and two lanes of the eastbound Century (105) Freeway.” One person was killed. (Patch)
2) A 17-year-old student from Ulysses S. Grant High School at 13000 Oxnard Street was arrested Wednesday. He is a suspect in the stabbing of “another student across campus two days earlier.” The 15-year-old victim is hospitalized. (Naija On Point)
3) Are you in the mood for “a special vegetarian and vegan Rosh Hashanah dinner menu?” Malli, a Mexican-Jewish pop-up, is setting up shop on Monday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Jewel, which is located at 654 North Hoover Street. (LA Eater)
4) We’re number 16! Researchers determined that Los Angeles is among the best coffee cities in America. We learned on Wednesday that they looked at coffee shops per capita and the average price of a pack of coffee. In first place is San Francisco. At the bottom of the list is Detroit. (WalletHub)
5) Mark your calendars! The St. Francis Center will host a blessing of the animals on October first. The event begins at 5 p.m. and continues until each pet receives a blessing. The blessing takes place at 3621 Brunswick Avenue. (St. Francis Center)
