Actress Kim Delaney, Partner Won't Be Charged After Domestic Violence Arrest

The "NYPD Blue" actress spent three days in jail before the DA declined to prosecute her case, according to jail records.

MARINA DEL REY, CA — Neither actress Kim Delaney nor her partner will face prosecution after they were arrested on suspicion of domestic violence over the weekend, the district attorney's office said Tuesday.

The "NYPD Blue" actress, 63, and her partner, James Morgan, were arrested at Delaney's Marina del Rey home on Saturday morning after deputies responded to the property for a report of domestic violence, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Delaney was arrested on suspicion of assault and Morgan was arrested on suspicion of spousal battery, according to the department.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office declined to file charges against either of them, citing "insufficient evidence" in each case, according to a representative from the office.

Morgan has been out on $20,000 bond since Saturday. Delaney was in jail for three days: She was released Tuesday after her scheduled court appearance, according to jail records.

Delaney and Morgan had been arguing for several days before the disagreement turned physical on Friday night, TMZ reported.

Delaney called the sheriff's department on Saturday after Morgan returned to the home. He told deputies that Delaney tried to hit him with her car, TMZ reported.

Delaney won an Emmy for playing Detective Diane Russell on the long-running ABC drama "NYPD Blue." She's also had roles on "All My Children," "The O.C," "Army Wives," "CSI: Miami" and "Chicago Fire."
