Witnesses reported hearing 15 to 20 gunshots and seeing a possible suspect drive away, while the victim was found on the sidewalk.

LOS ANGELES — An argument turned deadly on Christmas Day in Panorama City, when a man was shot and killed following a verbal dispute, according to police.

The incident occurred around 8:50 p.m. Wednesday in the 8700 block of Cedros Avenue, police said. Two males were arguing when one took out a handgun and shot the other, a man in his 30s, before fleeing in a vehicle, according to police.

Witnesses reported hearing 15 to 20 gunshots and seeing a possible suspect drive away, while the victim was found on the sidewalk by first responders with multiple gunshot wounds.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said, adding it was unknown if the shooting was gang-related.
