Sunset Boulevard Bar Owner Arrested After Firing Bullets Into Building: Report

The owner of the bar was arrested on suspicion of firing bullets into the walls and ceilings above the establishment, according to a report.

LOS ANGELES, CA — The owner of a popular Silver Lake bar and restaurant was arrested early Tuesday morning on suspicion of shooting bullets into the walls and ceiling of his apartment above the Sunset Boulevard establishment, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Gareth Kantner, who owns Bar Stella and the adjacent Café Stella in Sunset Junction, was arrested at around 12:25 a.m. on a charge of negligent discharge of a firearm, the Times reported, citing the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police heard gunshots when they arrived on the scene. When officers went inside they saw numerous bullet holes in the walls and ceiling of the apartment. No one was injured, according to the Times.

Kantner was previously accused of sexual harassment by several former employees, LAist reported.

He's the son of Jefferson Airplane co-founder Paul Kantner.
