A barber who was shot at his Mission Hills workplace was hospitalized with critical injuries, leaving him unable to walk, authorities said.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A barber who was shot at his Mission Hills workplace was hospitalized with critical injuries, leaving him unable to walk, authorities said Sunday.
The shooting happened around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Prodigy Barbershop, at 15519 Blackhawk St., just east of the San Diego (405) Freeway and just north of Devonshire Street, according to reports.
Surveillance video showed a masked suspect in a black cap and black hoodie walking past the store, turning back around to shoot at someone inside and running to an electric scooter, which was used to flee the scene.

Michelle Moreno -- the victim's mother -- spoke to reporters and said her son Anthony Rotarte's nervous system was left incapacitated by the bullet and he was left unable to walk.
Moreno said her son was a major provider to the family, and a GoFundMe page had been set up to help cover the victim's medical expenses.
