Bel Air Construction Worker Crushed To Death By Forklift
A forklift carrying a load of rebar had toppled over trapping the worker at a construction site on 970 North Moraga Drive.
LOS ANGELES CA — A worker died after being trapped underneath a forklift at a construction site in Bel Air Monday afternoon.
The Los Angeles Fire Department was called to the construction site at 970 North Moraga Drive at about 1 p.m. to respond to a report of a man trapped underneath a forklift, Brian Humphrey, a spokesman with the department.
"Despite the quick response of LAFD crews, including those specially trained, certified and equipped for Urban Search & Rescue operations, the adult male worker trapped beneath a toppled forklift that had been carrying steel rebar at a construction site, proved beyond medical help and he has been determined dead and remains at the scene," Humphrey said. "LAFD personnel are securing and stabilizing the scene, as they prepare to assist the Medical Examiner with the discreet and dignified recovery of his remains."
