- On Friday morning, the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels on Temple Street rang its bells in an act of consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Historically, Catholics observe the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord on this day. However, today, Pope Francis offered the additional prayer, entrusting both peoples to Mary’s “maternal care and protection and for the end of the war and violence.” (Patch)
- L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti cut the ribbon on the city’s latest tiny village for individuals experiencing homelessness. “The new site will provide nearly 100 beds, along with air conditioners, heaters and bathrooms.” Residents will begin moving in next week. (ABC)
- LAPD Chief Michel Moore is warning residents “about wearing expensive jewelry.” We learned Wednesday that there has been a 44% increase in armed robberies. “What we're asking the public to do with these crime increases is if they're going to wear expensive jewelry or drive high-end cars, when leaving restaurants, taverns, and other locations, they need to be mindful of their surroundings and be in well-lit areas.” (Fox 11)
- “The possession, purchase, sale, receipt or transport of a non-serialized unfinished firearm frame or receiver or non-serialized firearm,” commonly known as a ghost gun, is illegal in L.A. But because people already have them, the LAPD will host an “anonymous gun buyback” today. “People can turn in ‘ghost guns’ or any unwanted firearms in exchange for a gift card. Police say the gift cards will be worth between $100 and $200.” (ABC)
- L.A. is building the world’s largest wildlife crossing. Groundbreaking will be April 22, which is Earth Day. When finished in 2025, “the bridge will give big cats, coyotes, deer, lizards, snakes and other creatures a safe route to open space in the Santa Monica Mountains.” (KTLA)

- Our N Hollywood E Lankershim-Vinelnd neighbor is wondering if anyone has drawn up their own driveway “plans?” They're trying to get a permit for one, but the city needs blueprints in order to consider it. A contractor will do it for between $1600-$1800. (Nextdoor)
- Did you know that you could volunteer for the LAPD North Hollywood Division? Volunteers do a great number of tasks. Some work with detectives, some do radar operations to get motorists to slow down, and more! (Nextdoor)
