  1. The LAFD assisted a five-year-old boy who fell “off of a cliff in Beverly Crest on Friday.” First responders hiked to the child’s location on the steep hillside, whom they found “conscious with unspecified injuries.” The FD used a rope system to move the boy down the hill and into a waiting ambulance. The child’s mother accompanied him to the hospital. (Mike Fisher)
  2. Did you see the freeway chase on Friday morning, right around 9:20 a.m.? A motorcyclist “failed to yield in the West Los Angeles area” and the California Highway Patrol gave chase. It went on the 405, 10, and then the 5. Reaching speeds of almost 125 mph, the suspect eventually ran out of fuel and stopped at a gas station in Orange, where the CHP arrested him. (Fox)
  3. A brick-and-mortar business that specialized in “marriage fraud and immigration document fraud” has been operating in the City. Operators recruited Americans, charged foreign nationals around $30,000, “staged fake wedding ceremonies,” and fabricated domestic violence allegations when the American spouse failed to cooperate. (Patch)
  4. Remember last year, when a man was “arrested for his alleged role in the shooting of Lady Gaga’s dog walker and the theft of her French bulldogs?” We learned on Friday that the suspect “was mistakenly released from custody on Wednesday.” The Sheriff’s Department blames “a clerical error.” “Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department at 213-229-1850.” (KTLA)
  5. If your car gives up the ghost during this heatwave, you don’t have to be stranded on the L.A. freeways. The Freeway Service Patrol reminded residents Friday that it is on call for “refilling radiators and taping leaky hoses,” “changing flat tires,” “jump-starting cars,” and “providing up to a gallon of fuel.” From your phone, call 511 and say “Motorist Aid.” (@LATraffic24, 2)
