Bicyclists Set Off Explosion | Hikers Shot By Cartel: SoCal In-Brief

Took a break from the news? Worry not. We've rounded up some of the stories you missed in SoCal on Saturday and Sunday.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA — As we head into the new week, we've rounded up the stories you may have missed on Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.

SoCal got some much welcome rain after a bone-dry winter that led to the devastating wildfires. Much of Greater LA got around an inch of rain Saturday and Sunday, alongside chilly temperatures in the 40s and 50s. However, firefighters feared the rain would lead to mudslides and flooding in burn scar areas, and a Flood Watch is in effect until Monday in affected areas like Pacific Palisades, Malibu, and Altadena. As of Sunday, firefighters continued to make progress containing the Palisades, Eaton, and Hughes fires.

In San Diego County, near the Mexican border, the Border 2 Fire has burned over 6600 acres, leading to evacuations over the weekend. Firefighters reached 40% containment by Sunday, and lifted evacuation orders, but several roads remain closed.
