Big CA Lottery Wins For 3 Angelenos Totaling $22 Million

Three winning California Lottery tickets were sold in Los Angeles totaling $22 million in winnings. Two lucky winners scored $10 million.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Three Angelinos kicked off 2023 with $22 million in prizes from the California Lottery with lucky tickets sold at three Southern California stores, lottery officials announced this week.

Salvador Carbajal bought 200X scratcher at Jensen's Market in Baldwin Park that ended up being worth worth $10,000,000, according to the California Lottery. The same store sold a $15,000 lottery ticket a few years ago, according to the California Lottery.

"It was exciting! We sold the ticket back in September. I had this guy playing Scratchers for a while. He was playing different games, switching back and forth," said Jensen's Market employee Milton Polanco.

In Sherman Oaks, another lucky winner, Roberto Nunes, took home $10 million on a winning $10 Million Dollar Titanium Black Scratchers Ticket from Fulton Square Liquor.

The final Los Angeles winner was Nicholas Simpson, who took home $2 million after buying a winning Instant Prize Crossword Scratchers ticket from Sunwest 58 Mobil on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angels.

In neighboring Riverside County, Mary Higelin won a $20 million Set For Life Millionaire Edition Scratches ticket from a liquor store in Norco, the biggest prize a player can win with a Scratchers game, according to the California Lottery.

The California Lottery's last Mega Millions drawing on Tuesday resulted in 406,524 winning tickets, with 11 tickets worth $9,782. There were no tickets sold over $1 million.
