VIDEO: 'Brangelina' Split. Then An Earthquake Hit Los Angeles. Coincidence?

There were two seismic events in Southern California on Tuesday.

First, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt. Then, a small earthquake shook Los Angeles' Gardena neighborhood.

Related? Or just a spooky coincidence?

Of course, a celebrity breakup can't literally shake an entire region. But plenty of people made the connection, including CNN:

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, Southern California experiences about 10,000 earthquakes in a given year. That includes a lot of small quakes that aren't felt by people standing on the Earth's surface.

That's an average of nearly 30 earthquakes a day.

So, no, it's not really that strange that an earthquake would strike just as word spread about the split of the world's most famous celebrity couple.
