Brush Fire Contained Near Chatsworth Neighborhood

CHATSWORTH, CA — Los Angeles firefighters held a brush fire in Chatsworth to 3 acres Monday morning.

The blaze broke out shortly before 10:30 a.m. in the 22300 block of West Germain Street in the Chatsworth area. Burning uphill amid moderate brush and extreme heat, the fire was close to a park and residential neighborhood, prompting an aggressive firefighting effort.

Firefighters with the Los Angeles Fire Department, state park rangers, the Los Angeles County Fire Department, and the Ventura County Fire Department worked to contain the blaze in 47 minutes, said Nicholas Prange, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman.

There were no injuries or evacuations connected to the fire.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
