CA Funeral Home Gives Family Wrong Corpse: Report
The dead man's niece told KCAL she had to show mortuary staff a picture of her uncle before they took her concerns seriously.
COMPTON, CA — A Southern California family is suing a funeral home after the business dressed the wrong corpse for their loved one’s burial, according to KCAL.
Amentha Hunt told the outlet that instead of her 80-year-old uncle, a stranger was dressed in his suit, noting she had to show staff at Harrison-Ross Mortuary in Compton a picture of her relative before the business took her concerns seriously.
The situation delayed the burial by three hours, according to KCAL, which reported that the funeral home denied the claims and plans to file a cease-and-desist letter.
