Inmate Escapes Prison In Los Angeles County

Prison officials said Richard T. Tarin walked away from a Los Angeles facility over the weekend.

LOS ANGELES, CA -- California prison officials on Sunday announced the disappearance of an inmate who walked away from a Los Angeles facility. Richard T. Tarin, 30, removed his electronic monitoring device around 2 p.m. Saturday before leaving the Male Community Reentry Program facility in Los Angeles, officials said.

Tarin is 5'9 and weighs 178 pounds. He was received by the state corrections agency from Los Angeles County on Nov. 27, 2013, with a five-year, eight-month sentence for driving under the influence of alcohol and causing great bodily injury.

Tarin was transferred from California Men’s Colony to the MCRP on April 3. He was scheduled to be released to parole supervision in November 2018.
