Students Hospitalized In LA Middle School Science Lab HazMat Exposure
A hazardous materials team responded to a Los Angeles middle school Wednesday morning following an incident in a science lab.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A hazardous materials team responded to an incident at a Los Angeles middle school science laboratory that impacted eight students Wednesday morning, according to authorities.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to Carver Middle School in South Los Angeles' Central-Alameda area just before 10 a.m. The students were working in a science lab at the school when they were apparently exposed to an unspecified chemical, the LAFD said.
Two students were transported to a local hospital. Six others were identified as patients. All were reported to be in fair condition, the LAFD said.

A hazardous materials team investigated and determined there were no hazardous chemicals on the scene, authorities said.
