LOS ANGELES — As the weekend wraps up, we've rounded up all the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.

But before we jump into Southern California’s top stories, June gloom is sticking around for the moment, and forecasters expect a cool, showery pattern will linger through Monday. Some clouds and fog will stick around this week courtesy of a persistent low-pressure system that has set up over SoCal. A slight warming trend should send temps a couple of degrees higher as the week progresses.

Catching up on the weekend: A drug-sniffing dog led investigators to a huge trove of drugs inside a vegetable truck at a Calexico crossing, and a star high school athlete was killed in a shooting Saturday in South Los Angeles. Seven children and an adult were rushed to the hospital after their vehicle fell 50 feet on Sunday, and a massive fire at a construction site drew dozens of firefighters to San Gabriel.
