  2. On Tuesday afternoon, a brush fire erupted near the Griffith Observatory close to the Boy Scout Trail. First reports of the blaze came in around 2:43 p.m., and the LAFD responded to 2675 North Nottingham Avenue. 3. The Puente Hills Landfill County Regional Park Development is a go! We learned on Tuesday that the “$28,250,000 in funding was just unanimously approved by” the L.A. County Board of Supervisors. These funds come “from the sale of land at Diamond Bar Golf Course.” (Hilda Solis, LA County BOS)
  4. If you’re a diehard fan of 86-year-old singer Engelbert Humperdinck, you can now own his L.A. home. It was listed Monday for $6.2 million. The home is situated “in the wealthy enclave of Bel Air” and was purchased in 2005 for $2.995 million. (Mansion Global)
  5. Mark your calendars! The second annual People’s Kite Festival is happening this Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m.! It will be at the L.A. State Historic Park, and attendance is FREE. “This family-friendly cultural festival will serve as an opportunity to bring together diverse communities in Los Angeles through the art of kite making and a day full of joy, culture, and uplift through the arts.
