Deadly Crash Shuts Down 110 Freeway

A deadly crash shut down all lanes of the northbound 110 Freeway Tuesday.

GARDENA, CA — A section of the northbound 110 Freeway remained completely closed Tuesday afternoon after a woman was killed in a crash earlier in the day, according to authorities.

As of 1:30 p.m., the crash investigation was blocking all lanes of the northbound freeway between the 91 Freeway and Redondo Beach Blvd. Traffic was backed up to Carson Street at that time, according to a Sigalert.

Traffic was being diverted to the eastbound 91 Freeway. Motorists were used to use Main Street or Vermont Avenue as an alternative route to the 110 Freeway.

The crash was reported at 11:35 a.m., just south of the 91 Freeway. An officer reported that a body had been ejected onto the roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
