Driver Shot In Carjacking At Stoplight On Figueroa Street
The victim was shot three times and is in critical condition. Officers happened to be in the area and located a suspect running away.
HIGHLAND PARK, CA — A man is in critical condition Tuesday after he was shot during an attempted carjacking in Highland Park and the suspect is in custody.
The victim was driving north on Figueroa Street around 12:05 a.m. Tuesday and as he approached a stop light at Marmion Way, the suspect approached him on foot and demanded the victim's car, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman told City News Service.
After the victim refused, the suspect then shot the victim three times, police said.

After he was shot, the victim drove to 5028 Figueroa St. and contacted police.
Officers who happened to be in the area responded to the scene, saw the suspect running on Marmion Way and arrested him, the LAPD spokesman said.

The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
