Driver Survived 4 Nights Stranded After 100-Foot Fall In Mount Baldy
The person swerved to avoid a deer and was left trapped with a crumpled pickup and broken ankle.

MOUNT BALDY, CA — A driver survived four nights stranded in the cold and wet Angeles National Forest after a crash last week, authorities said.
The person swerved to avoid a deer in the area of Mount Baldy and Glendora Ridge roads, causing her and her truck to fall about 100 feet, leaving her trapped with a crumpled pickup and broken ankle, and out of sight of passing vehicles, according to authorities.
She had enough supplies to survive the four nights she was stranded, the San Dimas Mountain Rescue Team said in a social media post, adding a passerby eventually heard her calling for help and sought aid.

“We can’t stress this enough: if you plan on traveling on a mountain road this winter, bring extra supplies,” the San Dimas Mountain Rescue team said on social media. “It never hurts to have food, water, a sleeping bag, and extra layers on hand in the event of an #emergency.”
