Fatal 405 Freeway Pileup Snarls Monday Morning Traffic
A man was killed at the scene of a four-car pileup on the San Diego (405) Freeway that led to rush hour lane closures Monday morning.
LOS ANGELES, CA —A man was killed Monday morning in a multiple- vehicle crash on the San Diego (405) Freeway in the Westwood area of Los Angeles.
The crash was reported at 3:36 a.m. on the southbound San Diego Freeway at Sunset Boulevard, California Highway Patrol Officer Michael Nasir told City News Service.
Witnesses reported four vehicles involved in the crash with "a body in the middle of the freeway," Nasir said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Nasir said. Information on his identity was not immediately available.
The CHP issued a SigAlert at about 4 a.m. shutting down all southbound lanes just north of Sunset Boulevard. Three of the lanes were reopened about 7 a.m., and the remaining lanes were reopened about 90 minutes afterward. The investigation was continuing
