  1. There was a fatal shooting in the 1100 block of South Kern Avenue at around 1:15 a.m. on Monday. Investigators have been collecting evidence “near some neighborhood businesses at the intersection of Kern Avenue and Olympic Boulevard.” “It seems like people are just on a rampage now,” an East L.A. resident said. (KTLA)
  2. A man who was known as the Deutsche Bank whistleblower was found dead “about 7 a.m. Monday in the 4500 block of Multnomah Street.” He had worked with the feds investigating “the activities of Deutsche Bank and its ties with former President Donald Trump.” In addition, he had supplied journalists with “Deutsche Bank documents that highlighted the bank's deep Russia connections.” (10 News)
  3. On Tuesday at around 12:13 a.m., a fire erupted at 1120 South Main Street, which is a commercial structure. “It took 100 firefighters about 72 minutes to bring the blaze under control.” It is interesting to note that this is the second fire at this location in the “past two months.” “The first fire was tied to a homeless encampment in a back alley” and destroyed the building’s back half. This blaze “charred the store's facade.” (Patch, CBS)
  4. On Monday, the former head of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power learned about the consequences of his involvement in a bribery scheme. He was sentenced to “serve 6 years in prison and pay a $75,000 fine.” He “pleaded guilty in January to allegations he agreed to accept a kickback and the promise of a lucrative private sector job -- in exchange for pushing through a no-bid, $30-million contract as part of the DWP's response to the excessive billing problems.” (NBC)
  5. If you’ve driven past 948 Crocker Street, you’ve seen Pink And Boujee, the pink taco truck. We learned Monday that the owner serves up fare with pink tortillas that come from “dragon fruit and beets, along with premium quality meats, to make that perfect LA style taco.” “Pink and Boujee is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in LA’s Fashion District.” (NBC)
