A fight followed by a shooting prompted the California Highway Patrol to shut down all northbound lanes of the 101 Saturday.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A fight followed by a shooting prompted the California Highway Patrol to shut down all northbound lanes of the Hollywood (101) Freeway in downtown Los Angeles Saturday afternoon for a crime scene investigation.

The fight was reported to the CHP at 1:35 p.m. Saturday on the northbound side of the freeway at Mission Road, Officer Erik Larsen told City News Service.

The CHP got a call about a physical fight between two occupants of a white Honda SUV in the northbound lanes at Vignes Street, according to a department statement. A second caller reported gunshots at the same location.
