Freeway Shooting | 3 Youths Killed In Crash | 'King Of The Bs' Dies

Took a break from the news this weekend? Worry not: we've rounded up some of the stories you missed in SoCal on Saturday and Sunday.

LOS ANGELES, CA — As the weekend wraps, we've rounded up some of the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.

The main attraction this weekend was the ultra-rare appearance of the Northern Lights, which could be seen as far south as Florida due to an ultra-rare solar storm. Many parts of the Southland were cloudy Friday and Saturday, but people in the San Gabriel Valley, Riverside County, and east were treated to a once-in-a-lifetime extravaganza of dancing green and pink lights.

In much sadder news, three were killed and three injured in a major crash around Pasadena, which took the lives of three people aged 18-21, and knocked out power to the Pasadena area.

A 19-year-old was also shot and killed on the 10 Freeway near San Dimas. Some reports believe the victim was killed by a biker. The shooting resulted in a SigAlert that closed all lanes of the eastbound 10 for several hours.

Drama surrounding pro-Palestinian campus protests continued. UCLA declared "normal operations" after two weeks of disruptions and the dismantling of the encampments, and one man was arrested at a protest encampment on the UC Irvine campus for "erratic behavior." A massive protest is also scheduled at Pomona College.
