Gas Leak Reported In Downey, Evacuations Lifted
A natural gas leak was reported in Downey Thursday. Residents were warned to avoid the area.

DOWNEY, CA — Evacuations were lifted Friday morning following a natural gas leak in Downey Thursday, officials said. No injuries were reported.
The leak was reported about 10:30 a.m. near Rives Avenue and Stewart and Gray Road in Downey, officials said.
People are advised to avoid the area. The city of Downey alerted residents of the emergency.

A gas main break happened, according to the Downey Fire Department. Police are diverting traffic in the area and also evacuating people in the area. SoCalGas crews were responding to the area.
