LA County Gas Price Rises To Highest Amount Since March 9

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in LA County rose today,to its highest amount since March 9, rising to $4.95.

LOS ANGELES COUNTY -- The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in LA County rose to its highest amount since March 9 today, increasing 1.7 cents to $4.955, one day after rising six-tenths of a cent to end a run of four decreases in five days totaling 2.2 cents.

The average price is one-tenth of a cent more than one week ago and 9 cents higher than one month ago but $1.459 less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.539 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5.

The national average price rose for the second consecutive day following an eight-day streak of decreases totaling 3.7 cents, increasing 1.1 cents to $3.564. It is 1 cent less than one week ago and $1.391 lower than one year ago but 2.7 cents more than one month ago.
