🎄 The Worst Christmas Songs?
Christmas is around the corner. Songs of the season are everywhere. However, some tunes are better than others. Last year, Rolling Stone compiled a list of the worst Christmas songs of all time. Which song is the one that is the worst in your book? Hand-picked choices are:
- The Jackson 5, ‘I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus’
- NewSong, ‘The Christmas Shoes’
- The Pussycat Dolls, ‘Santa Baby’
- Seth MacFarlane and Sara Bareilles, ‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside’
- Band Aid, ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’
📰 Here are the top stories in Los Angeles today:
1) The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) announced on Sunday that it arrested three suspects in numerous follow-home robberies. They range in age from 35 to 46 years. “During their arrests and subsequent search warrants, authorities seized a handgun, ammunition, victim’s property and items connecting the three to several robberies.” Among the incidents the LAPD cited was the gas station robbery on White Oak Avenue. (KTLA)
2) There are no more scooters or shared bicycles from Lyft in the Los Angeles area. We learned on Monday that the company scrapped its program, “citing a lack of long-term commitments from area municipalities.” In addition to L.A., Lyft also removed its Santa Monica dockless bike and scooter fleets. (Santa Monica Daily Press)
3) Our Place, the “mission-driven kitchenware brand,” announced on Monday that it's coming to 1344 Abbot Kinney Boulevard later this year. Insiders who have traveled to the Venice location already know it as a “place that brought people together over the joy of cooking.” The exact opening date has not been released. (PR Newswire)
4) Metro unveiled its “The Yellow Car and Los Angeles” exhibit in the Union Station waiting room. Feel nostalgic as you recall the LARy (Los Angeles Railway Corporation) and Pacific Electric’s Red Cars. “The new exhibition at Union Station features photos of streetcars and buses, design drawings of the old rail cars and buses, vintage transit maps, LARy signs and other LARy memorabilia.” (Metro)
5) Where can you watch at least some of the World Cup games in Los Angeles? Insiders have compiled a list including The Greyhound Bar & Grill at 5570 North Figueroa Street, which is committed to showing the U.S. Games, “with the bar opening 15 minutes before each match.” The Chap at 1607 North Cahuenga Boulevard is another option. “The pub opens at 8 a.m. for key weekend matches, and at 11 a.m. on weekdays.” 33 Taps at 3725 Sunset Boulevard “will open for all 7 a.m., 9 a.m., and 11 a.m. matches.” The Cat & Fiddle Pub at 742 North Highland Avenue focuses on “showing select U.S., Wales, and England games.” (Eater L.A.)
