LOS ANGELES, CA — A homeless man was struck and killed Saturday by multiple vehicles near an off-ramp to the Santa Monica (10) Freeway in the Palms community of Los Angeles, authorities said.

The crash occurred at about 6:10 a.m. Saturday on the eastbound freeway at the La Cienega Boulevard off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The man, who was wearing a black shirt and blue shorts, had been sitting on top of the center divider. He was struck by multiple vehicles, the CHP said.

A Sigalert issued at 6:30 a.m. closing all eastbound lanes for an unknown duration was canceled at 9:48 a.m.
