Metrolink Train Hits, Kills Person In Los Angeles County
A pedestrian was hit by a Metrolink train early Friday morning and killed, authorities said.

BURBANK, CA — A pedestrian was struck and killed on the tracks of a Metrolink train on the Ventura County line Friday.
The crash happened around 5:50 a.m. Friday when officers responded to the railroad crossing at Buena Vista Street and Vanowen Street following a report of a pedestrian being struck by a Metrolink passenger train, according to the Burbank Police Department.
"The train, which was traveling south at the time, slowed to a stop following the collision. There were no reported injuries to passengers on the train," police reported.

The victim was located and pronounced dead at the scene.
A Metrolink official told KNX there were 39 passengers on the train traveling, and no one on the train was injured.

Bus service was set up to take passengers to and from the Hollywood Burbank Airport to Union Station in downtown Los Angeles.
The victim's identity was not being released, pending positive identification and family notification. The victim was likely a Latina woman, police said.
The Burbank Police Department was diverting traffic away from the crash site and advising people to avoid the area.
Detectives, Metrolink officials, a Los Angeles County Coroner investigator and personnel from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department assisted in the incident, which remains under investigation.
