Pedestrian Killed In Hit-And-Run Crash Outside LAX: LAPD
The woman was struck and killed near the LAX entrance early Thursday morning, according to the LAPD.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A man accused of fleeing the scene after fatally striking a woman who was walking outside LAX early Thursday morning has been arrested, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The woman was walking across Sepulveda Boulevard, south of Century Boulevard near the LAX entrance, when she was struck by a driver Thursday at around 12:05 a.m. The motorist was driving southbound on Sepulveda in a gray late-model Chevrolet SUV when the driver struck the woman, who was walking outside of a marked crosswalk, according to the LAPD.
Police later identified the motorist as Eduardo Alejandro Leiva, 48, of Los Angeles. He was arrested and booked on suspicion of felony hit-and-run Thursday, according to the LAPD.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the scene. She has not yet been identified, but is described by police as a Hispanic woman between 20 and 25 years old.
A standing award of up to $50,000 is available to people who provide information leading to a hit-and-run offenders identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
