- On March 3, a 30-year-old man pleaded guilty to murdering L.A. philanthropist Jacqueline Avant on December 1. He was robbing her Beverly Hills home. On Tuesday, the judge sentenced him “to three life prison terms, saying he will have to serve a minimum of 150 years behind bars.” The defendant had “prior robbery convictions from 2013 and 2018.” (NBC)
- Vice President Kamala Harris is spending time in Brentwood and this means snarled traffic. Up to and including Thursday, “motorists are advised to avoid the surrounding area if possible, since the Vice Presidential motorcade has the potential to severely disrupt traffic.” (Patch)
- On Monday, Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell (13th District) was told of “anti-Semitic leaflets (that) were left at the homes of residents in the 13th District's Sunset Square neighborhood.” He wants it to be clear that “hate has absolutely zero place in Los Angeles or the 13th District.” If you know who left these flyers or put them together, please contact his office or the LAPD. (Mitch O'Farrell)
- There was a traffic pursuit in Hollywood that resulted in a crash around 4:30 a.m. “near the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Wilcox Avenue.” Two civilians and two officers were transported to the hospital. “The stolen vehicle continued on from the location until it crashed a short time later near the intersection of North Laurel Avenue and Oakwood Avenue,” and the driver ran away. (KTLA)
- We learned on Tuesday that USC’s Institute of Armenian Studies is celebrating L.A. County’s Armenian History Month by compiling an “oral history project.” Vahe Enterprises lent a food truck to the school, which outfitted it as a studio. Participation is possible in person or via QR code scan. (Fox)
