Police Activity Closes I-405 In Los Angeles In Both Directions

INGLEWOOD, CA – Police activity Monday morning closed Interstate 405 in both directions in Inglewood, snarling traffic for miles.

Photos and video posted on social media around 9:20 a.m. Monday showed police blocking all lanes near La Cienega Boulevard.

A Sig Alert said the northbound lanes of the 405 at Manchester and La Cienega boulevards was backed up to El Segundo Boulevard/Exit 44. Drivers were told to expect delays of up to an hour.

The traffic jam led people to take to Twitter to express their grievances.

"Do NOT head south on the 405 if ur before La Cienga/ Manchester exit, freeway is completely stopped," tweeted @crystalbanga.

"Do not get on the 405 fwy right now," tweeted @Tfmanny.
